چکیده

We present synoptic optical photometry of HD 189733, the chromospherically active parent star of one of the most intensively studied exoplanets. We have significantly extended the timespan of our previously reported observations and refined the estimate of the stellar rotation period by more than an order of magnitude: P = 11.953± 0.009 days. We derive a lower limit on the inclination of the stellar rotation axis of 56 (with 95% confidence), corroborating earlier evidence that the stellar spin axis and planetary orbital axis are well aligned. Subject headings: planetary systems — planetary systems: formation — stars: individual (HD 189733) — stars: rotation

A posteriori detection of the planetary transit of HD 189733 b in the Hipparcos photometry

Aims. Thanks to observations performed at the Haute-Provence Observatory, Bouchy et al. recently announced the detection of a 2.2-day orbital period extra-solar planet that transits the disk of its parent star, HD 189733. We searched in the Hipparcos photometry Catalogue possible detections of those transits. Methods. Statistic studies were performed on the Hipparcos data in order to detect tra...

A Stellar Companion in the Hd 189733 System with a Known Transiting Extrasolar Planet

We show that the very close-by (19 pc) K0 star HD 189733, already found to be orbited by a transiting giant planet, is the primary of a double-star system, with the secondary being a midM dwarf with projected separation of about 216 AU from the primary. This conclusion is based on astrometry, proper motion and radial velocity measurements, spectral type determination and photometry. We also det...

ELODIE metallicity - biased search for transiting Hot Jupiters ⋆ II . A very hot Jupiter transiting the bright K star HD 189733

Among the 160 known exoplanets, mainly detected in large radial-velocity surveys, only 8 have a characterization of their actual mass and radius thanks to the two complementary methods of detection: radial velocities and photometric transit. We started in March 2004 an exoplanet-search programme biased toward high-metallicity stars which are more frequently host extra-solar planets. This survey...

Refined Parameters of the Planet Orbiting Hd 189733

We report on the BVRI multi-band follow-up photometry of the transiting extrasolar planet HD 189733b. We revise the transit parameters and find planetary radius R P = 1.154 ± 0.032R J and inclination i P = 85.79 ± 0.24 •. The new density (∼ 1g cm −3) is significantly higher than the former estimate (∼ 0.75g cm −3); this shows that from the current sample of 9 transiting planets, only HD 209458 ...

1 7 Se p 20 07 Detection of a Third Planet in the HD 74156 System Using the Hobby - Eberly Telescope 1

We report the discovery of a third planetary mass companion to the G0 star HD 74156. High precision radial velocity measurements made with the Hobby-Eberly Telescope aided the detection of this object. The best fit triple Keplerian model to all the available velocity data yields an orbital period of 347 days and minimum mass of 0.4 MJup for the new planet. We determine revised orbital periods o...
